By Automobile: Highways & National Bus Service

Interstate Highways 15 and 80 intersect in Salt Lake City, providing excellent access by automobile. Three transcontinental highways, each with 6 to 8 lanes, intersect in the Salt Lake City area. These highways are part of the inner-city road system and have the capacity to transport more than one million people a day. In addition, there are seven interstate highways with 4 to 6 lanes servicing the Salt Lake Olympic area. All roads in the city and surrounding area are extremely well maintained. Salt Lake County allocates $3.7 million annually for street improvements. With the planned construction of a new highway to the alpine area at Snow Basin, driving time to this venue form the center of Salt Lake City could be reduced to approximately 40 minutes.
