Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be celebrated in the University of Utah Stadium, an existing open air facility currently seating 32,000 people is but will be expanded to 50,000 capacity. Reserved seating will be designated for atheletes and the Olympic Family. Within walking distance, a second enclosed 15,000 capacity stadium will be used for staging the ceremonies. Both facilities are adjacent to the Olympic Village, 8 minutes from the center of the city and directly accessed from a six lane highway.
