Snowbasin Ski Area

The Downhill and Super G competitions will be in the rugged mountains of the Snowbasin Ski area. The recreational ski resort was founded in 1946 and has been the site of numerous international skiing events. World premier course designers from the International Ski Federation are creating new Downhill and Super G competition areas and they promise to be among the most exciting and challenging in the world. The Downhill course -- with a vertical drop of 844 meters -- could allow speeds up to 145 kilometers per hour. The new courses and accompanying chair lift have recently undergone comprehensive environmental studies and all approvals were given.
